Public Engagements and Community Conversations
The Moroccan Soup Bar is hosting a series of community engagement initiatives.
Open Table is an innovative approach to engaging our communities over a banquet dinner. these are held fortnightly and topics and themes determined by our community.
Purpose: When our communities are unsettled, and we are disengaged from our politicians and the media shaping our perceptions and the concept of fake news leaving us without political accountability.
The issues which matter to us are largely ignored. climate change, asylum seekers, indigenous recognition and Treaty, homelessness to name but a few.
The 'Open Table' is an opportunity for our community to come together and re engage with the social and topical issues which matter to us all
Speed Date a Muslim
Speed Date a Muslim is an event held monthly. It is an opportunity to engage with Muslim women in conversation. We encourage open honest dialogue about all things which are unsettling us.
It's an opportunity to connect and gain greater insight into the impact and causes of Islamaphobia.
We invite you to ask any question you like. Nothing is deemed inappropriate provided the approach is one of genuine enquiry and not accusations.
Come along and enjoy our hospitality over a cup of mint tea and sweets. Bring us your curiosity about all things Islam.
